We first played Hornchurch not long after they had reformed under the name AFC Hornchurch, the original club having folded at the end of the previous season. This first encounter was an FA Cup tie played on 2 th September 2005 in Upminster, with goals from Mark Knee, Stafford Browne and Sam Francis (2) securing us a 4-1 victory.
The following season we played them at Woodside Road in a pre-season friendly, then had to wait until 2015 for the next meeting, which was a home FA Cup tie that finished 4-1 to our visitors.
201819 saw us meet in the Isthmian League Premier Division for the first time and we won 3-1 at home following a 1-1 away draw. The following season, the Urchins recorded their largest winning margin in these encounters, winning 6-0 at Woodside Road in a season that was curtailed by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We did not meet in the truncated 2020/21 season, but the following year we followed up a 3-1 away win with a 1-1 home draw and ended the season as champions.
2024/25 was the first time that we met in National League South and we failed to score in either encounter, losing 1-0 away and having a goalless draw at Woodside.
The home fixture last season ended in our largest winning margin against Hornchurch (5-0) but we lost 2-1 in East London on 28th February, Teddy Jenks netting our goal.
